While investigating a case of holiday voucher fraud for an amount of 25,000 euros, the Villeurbanne police came across nearly 300kg of cannabis.

An impressive catch made on March 23 when investigators visited a 35-year-old man in connection with this fraud case.

On the spot, during their search, they discovered five “Moroccan suitcases”: wafers of cannabis gathered in bundles.

They then decided to search the cubicle of the person concerned and discovered a luxury Audi and three other Moroccan suitcases.

In all, they seized 289 kilos of cannabis and jewelry from major brands with a total value of €10,000.

Placed in police custody, the suspect, already unfavorably known to the police, explained that he was serving as a nanny for a third person but refused to give more information on this drug trafficking.

He will be presented to the prosecution on Monday for an immediate appearance for "drug trafficking".
