A 28-year-old woman who underwent weight-reducing surgery on March 8 at the Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano, in the Milanese area, died on March 19, after arriving in the emergency room and being admitted to the same hospital, as she complained of severe stomach pains.
As anticipated by 'La Repubblica' online and confirmed by judicial sources, the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office is now investigating the matter, which has ordered the seizure of the medical records and will carry out all the necessary investigations, including the autopsy.
"Humanitas - reads a note - expresses deep condolences to the family for the disappearance" of the young woman.
"The patient, who underwent surgery, had been discharged from the hospital in full health on March 8, 2023. On March 19 - the institute explains - she was admitted to the Emergency Department in critical condition, subjected to resuscitation and then hospitalized in Intensive Care, unfortunately without being able to resolve the complicated clinical situation".
