Two news reporters were attacked last night (Monday) during their work at the reform supporters' demonstration in Jerusalem: 13 news reporter Yossi Eli and his team and the Arabic news reporter at the Israel Broadcasting Corporation (here) Tamer Alkilani.

In both cases, the attackers are seen holding the flags of the "La Familia" organization, shouting "Only Channel 14" and trying to drive the reporters from the place.

News 13 reporter Yossi Eli said that the attackers threw bottles and stones at him and attacked him and the photographer with sticks.

According to him, the police rescued them from there and saved them.

In another attack incident at the demonstration of reform supporters last night in Jerusalem near Cinema City, the reporter of the Israel Broadcasting Corporation was attacked in Arabic (here) Tamer Alkilani by La Familia activists who cursed him, shouted "Muhammad is dead" and covered the camera to prevent him from broadcasting. Alkilani was forced to leave the scene .

"The blood of journalists was allowed"

The Association of Journalists in Jerusalem stated that it "takes a serious view of the escalation of violence against journalists and demands that the police investigate these serious incidents and deal with the full severity of the law against those who try to harm journalists and freedom of expression in the State of Israel."

Ofra Seth Milo and Miki Klein, chairmen of the Jerusalem Association of Journalists: "In recent days, we have repeatedly warned of the disastrous consequences of the incitement against journalists, which unfortunately also gained momentum in the words the Prime Minister made against the media and its work. We call on the Prime Minister, Netanyahu, to make a clear voice and strongly condemn the serious events tonight!".

An increase in the number of attacks against journalists

Over the weekend, right-wing activists violently attacked a team of News 13 while covering the demonstration that took place in Or Akiva against the legal revolution.

Right-wing demonstrators called the reporter Liron derogatory names, cursed her and wished her death.

The police blocked the activists, but the Likud supporters shouted at her: "Let them accompany you to the funeral like this."

Likud activists even shouted at Liron by name and her team: "Home, Al-Jazeera, you are the enemy, you sluts."

YSM police officers eventually rescued the Shabbat edition reporter - not before she was kicked by one of the protesters at the scene.

These are not the only cases of attacks on broadcast crews since the beginning of the protest against the coup. About two months ago, the News 13 team led by the anchor of the main edition Udi Segal, who came to submit The main edition from the scene of the attack in Neve Ya'akov in Jerusalem, was attacked by those present after the end of the broadcast.

Dozens of young people threw the fences that surrounded them at the journalist team, yelled at them "fly away", "leftists go home", "death to the Arabs" - and threatened to tear down the painting.

The rioters violently threw away the photographic equipment and caused damage.
