A check for 1250 euros as a thank you: On January 21, more than 250 rescue workers were on duty in the basement fire in Planegger Josef-Danzer-Straße, which led to the evacuation of almost 90 people.
The Planegg volunteer fire brigade was in charge.
Now Manfred Kager and Doreen Schierle thanked their comrades for their professional commitment.
- In the fire station on Pasinger Straße, they handed over the check with the handsome sum.
They came together at a fundraiser initiated by Kager.
The man from Königsbrunn had the idea for the campaign when he read the Facebook post of his friend Doreen Schierle, who lives in the house affected by the fire and thanked the helpers warmly via social media.
The fundraiser via PayPal ran for a month, while Schierle went from door to door at his home.
"We were extremely happy that we experienced such an appreciation from those affected," says Mathias Singer, spokesman for the Planegger fire brigade.
In the 28 years that he has been there, he has never experienced thanks on this scale.
The money was intended for a snack for the firefighters involved, who came from the Würmtal communities and from further afield.
Now it flows into the Würmtal comradeship evening, which the Planegger Wehr is organizing next year.
A date this year could not be found due to the anniversary celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Planegger weir.
