Terrorists defying the borders of our continent to prepare an attack somewhere in the Netherlands... The latest exercise organized under the leadership of Europol, the European criminal police agency, recalls a major threat which, after the wave of attacks Islamists of the 2010s, continues to watch over Europe and requires training for a response.
In early March, for four days, surveillance and intervention units from nine European countries (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) tracked a commando terrorist during a joint training exercise.
Europol coordinated the operations from its headquarters in The Hague, in collaboration with the Atlas network (where 38 special intervention units from the European Union, Iceland, Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom cooperate) and the European monitoring group (which brings together these same countries, except Iceland).
