Inflation is accelerating in supermarkets

A few days before the end of the annual price negotiations between distributors and manufacturers of consumer products, many feared a new spike in prices on the shelves of supermarkets.

And for good reason, the negotiations ended with price increases of between 9% and 11%.

In fact, food inflation accelerated sharply in March.

It now reaches 16.2% over one year, against 14.5% at the end of February.

Over a month, prices have increased by another 1.8%, according to Circana, which examines the tickets at the checkout.

"This is the most significant monthly increase since the start of inflation a year ago
