In the midst of the economic crisis that is shaking the government and while registering himself as a possible candidate for president for the Frente de Todos, the governor of Chaco, Jorge Capitanich, said that in order to face the "serious" problem of currency settlement, Argentina has to
" go to a multi-currency regime"
.
“The most challenging thing, for me, is that you need to go to a multi-currency regime based on a
legal tender digital currency to have
forward traceability,” Capitanich said.
In an interview with AM 750 radio, Cristina Kirchner's former chief of staff raised it as a possible solution to the "serious problem of evasion, avoidance and the
serious problem of currency settlement
."
Referring to the difficulties in accessing dollars, Capitanich said that
"the external restriction" is "the first unresolved restriction
in Argentina."
"The insufficiency of the supply of foreign currency in the formal market and the excess in the informal one. We have dollars under the mattress, outside the financial circuit, savings in foreign currency, and these are problems that are not resolved over time and severely
condition
" , he remarked.
Capitanich gave the interview as part of a tour he is carrying out through the province of Buenos Aires presenting his book "Argentina Deserves More", in which he proposes "a comprehensive government plan."
However, when talking about candidacies and focusing on the official internal party, the Chaco leader argued that Cristina Kirchner is the "leader" of the Frente de Todos and "should be the candidate" for president in the next elections.
Capitanich warned that "first a government plan must be
seriously discussed
and the formation of a team sufficiently qualified to carry it out."
The provincial president maintained that "you have to be extremely humble in Argentina because nobody has the solution to all the problems", and proposed "to hold an open debate and in assembly mode that Peronism and the entire national and popular movement should have and
then build the necessary leadership
, starting from the existing electoral tools".
"Let's not waste time on superstructural agreements because we need to generate consistent debates that result in a government plan with measures that we can present and summon the majority of the electorate," he said.
And he added: "In the Front,
we should all be open to a popular and democratic debate
. All the actors should converge on this debate."
Another of the axes that Capitanich proposes is a reform of the constitution.
He said it since he began touring the country with the presentation of his book and the supposed "comprehensive government plan."
It proposes that, with the new constitution, the members of the Supreme Court of Justice "be elected as in Chaco, by contest of background, and opposition, public hearings with transparency and that respond solely, purely and exclusively to the strict exercise of respecting the Constitution and the laws that regulate its exercise and not do corporate favors".
“We believe that the institutions have to have an institutional quality exercise that allows us to design a new country model, a federal country.
Consequently, it is absolutely essential to promote a reform of a constitutional nature to precisely achieve
governance with institutional quality
, ”says the Chaco leader.
