The alleged perpetrator of the assassination is also suspected of the murder of a young man aged 26, whose charred body was found in the woods of the town of Thise (Doubs) a few days later.
When he disappeared, this 26-year-old young man was with another 21-year-old man who had not been found since, a worrying disappearance which had prompted Mr. Manteaux to broaden the investigation to include the possible kidnapping of this second individual.
The prosecutor had explained during a press conference on March 13 that this case was probably linked to drug trafficking.
The settling of scores has multiplied in recent years in the Franche-Comté city, particularly in the Planoise district, the scene of several deadly shootings against the backdrop of a turf war between drug dealers.
