Families will in the spring have to make their high school wishes on the Affelnet software.
A crucial choice as the choice of high school can decide the future of a young person.
As every year, Le
Figaro Étudiant
has therefore ranked the best high schools in France - the 30 best public high schools and the 30 best private high schools - in order to help middle school students and their families in their wishes.
To establish these rankings, the editorial staff of Le
Figaro Étudiant
relied on the added value indicators of high schools (Ival), provided by the Department of Evaluation and Forecasting and Performance (Depp), the statistics department of the Ministry of Education.
The score for each high school was calculated according to the success rate and mentions in the baccalaureate, as well as the access rate, i.e. the share of second-year students who enter it without changing establishment.
Note that the information transmitted by Depp does not specify which mention it is.
To decide between these establishments, we decided to also take into account the added value of the mention rate.
This indicator calculated by the Depp is obtained by taking the difference between the number of mentions obtained and that which could be expected with the same type of student.
"Added value is an indicator that takes into account the significant disparities in recruitment between establishments in terms of academic and socio-economic profiles,"
