Pension reform: territorial intelligence is concerned about "the anger of young people"

Young people, initially little concerned by the reform, were widely mobilized on 23 March. Their participation could double or even triple this Tuesday.

The youth enters the dance.

During the last national day of action, Thursday March 23, many young people, who initially did not feel concerned by the pension reform, finally joined the movement.

And their participation, estimated at 30,000 people last Thursday, “

could potentially double, even triple

” this Tuesday, for the tenth mobilization against the pension reform, alerts territorial intelligence.

They will be in the street again on Tuesday March 28, early in the morning to block their establishments then, more numerous, in the ranks of the union processions

”, indicated Monday the central service.

This mobilization particularly worries the authorities.

"

Extremely mobilizing among young people, the subject of 'repression and police violence' (...) could crystallize the anger of young people

", explains territorial intelligence.

What will be the role of youth?

For the time being, the Ministry of National Education reports fewer incidents than on March 23.

As of 9:30 a.m., 14 blockages were in progress, up from 27 last Thursday, and 27 filtering blockages were in operation, up from 37 last week.

But the real conclusions can only be drawn at the end of the demonstrations, and in particular of the Parisian procession.

Thursday, March 23, many young people had been seen upstream of the union procession, among the thugs.

Clashes with the police and damage had been massively noted.

By nightfall, the post-protest incidents had been provoked overwhelmingly by young people.

For this day of March 28, territorial intelligence indicates that the trade unions "

report a radicalization of some of their members, who are tempted to join certain citizen movements or groups radicalized to violent actions

".

"

The most radical will still be present at the late evening rallies

", add the authorities, who fear "

serious incidents in around fifty cities

".

It remains to be seen whether the young people mobilized will remain at the heart of the peaceful processions or whether they will actively participate in the violence.
