What does Germany's most successful rock musician read to his daughter in bed at night?

The stories about Anouk that he wrote together with his partner Hendrikje Balsmeyer.

On Sunday, the spectators saw the parents of the real Anouk (4) on stage in the well-filled Beccult in Pöcking.

Pöcking

- The stories from "Anouk, who travels at night" and from the second volume "Anouk, your next adventure is calling" are wonderful reading material for small children.

For many viewers at the Beccult, it was also about seeing the rock star Peter Maffay, who lives around the corner in Tutzing, live.

With a microphone, but not singing.

Maffay and his partner Hendrikje Balsmeyer did them a favor.

The Beselin family from Starnberg, for example, had already secured both volumes before the reading.

With bold handwriting, Maffay quickly wrote a very personal dedication for his two sons Philipp (5) and Jan (3) before he went on stage with his partner and stage daughter Minnie.

The real Anouk, daughter of the singer and his partner and just over four years old, sat in the front row and seemed just as excited as everyone else.

Understandable, because not every child is dedicated to a children's book in their lifetime.

Peter Maffay told the story of how it came about: "Anouk was one year old when we wrote the book for her." Mother Hendrikje wanted to give her a special gift.

Then friends, enthusiastic about it, would have pushed her to publish the whole thing.

There are now two volumes of stories by Anouk.

The beginning of the reading was as irritating as it was funny, Maffay and Balsmeyer didn't seem to agree on how to proceed.

Then Maffay's title song for the children's book was played, and the two authors and Minnie with a stuffed animal in their arms read to the pictures on the screen with the roles distributed: Anouk dives into dream worlds and brings real objects back from her dream trips.

The audience experienced a pirate story together, at the end of which each child was allowed to reach into the treasure chest and pull out something sweet.

In a second dream, Anouk and a friend solved a criminal case and brought back a missing cat.

The stories to be read aloud want to encourage small children, they are written captivatingly and are of educational value.

"As part of an evening routine, our stories are intended to convey a sense of security and calm to help children get a good night's sleep," Balsmeyer and Maffay write on the cover of the book.

The illustrations that Joëlle Tourlonias created based on the Maffay-Balsmeyer family are very cute.

Joëlle Tourlonias had been busily drawing on stage while the two stories were being told vividly.

Two pictures, one for each story, were created, which were auctioned off to the highest bidder.

The first drawing on the pirate story, which shows Anouk with her cuddly toy “Affi” on a wooden barrel, fetched 180 euros.

For 250 euros, a father from the audience was awarded the second sketch, in line with the crime adventure.

Overall, the afternoon raised around 1000 euros, reported Pöcking's second mayor Albert Luppart, who is also the managing director of the Maffay Foundation.

"The entire proceeds will benefit the FortStep facility in Niederpöcking," says Luppart.

Even after the reading, Maffay and Balsmeyer diligently signed books.

Mothers in particular were queuing up with their children and did not want to do without a dedication in their Anouk books or on the bags and mugs they had bought.

Then the authors and their little daughter had to go quickly to Halle in order to continue from there to Berlin.

"Tabaluga turns 40" will premiere in the Zoopalast, explained Maffay.

The film event will be shown on TV on Easter Monday.
