Personnel changes in the “Rosenheim Cops”: The fans have to say goodbye to two stars for the next season – there are two newcomers.

An actress has a "crime scene" past.

Munich – The "Rosenheim Cops" will go into their 23rd season.

That alone is no surprise with the ZDF quota hit.

The responsible press agency has now announced that shooting has been going on since mid-March.

What is amazing, however, is that there are several personnel changes in the team compared to the well-known troop that flickers across the screens on March 28 for the finale of the 22nd season.

Rosenheim cops: Michaela Weingartner new as a commissioner - Sophie Melbinger out

Fans of the male investigators can breathe a sigh of relief: According to the announcement, Dieter Fischer as Anton Stadler and Igor Jeftić as Sven Hansen continue to hunt for murderers in Rosenheim, as does Baran Hêvî, who again embodies the Passau temporary colleague Kilian Kaya.

One, however, does not appear in the list for season 23: Sophie Melbinger.

She only joined the series for the 22nd season as Hamburg commissioner Birte Andresen – but it was probably only a short interlude.

Her successor is called Michaela Weingartner and plays chief inspector Julia Beck.

The actress' agency had announced the personal details days earlier via Instagram posting (see above).

Weingartner is 32 years old, comes from the Chiemgau and lives in Munich.

Her agency says Bavarian is her home dialect - if she's allowed to speak it too, there should be a portion of extra local color in the series.

Will Weingartner's affinity for music also come into play?

She plays trumpet and piano, sings in the mezzo-soprano voice range and knows various dances.

Rosenheim cops: Sevda Polat out as pathologist - Anastasia Papadopoulou new coroner

The press release does not explicitly mention Melbinger's departure, and our editors are trying to get an official confirmation - but it simply doesn't appear there in the cast's list.

This also applies to another regular actress: Sevda Polat will also no longer be part of the ZDF "Rosenheim Cops".

As a forensic doctor, she had helped Ela Atay with valuable information in the search for the perpetrator.

The medical examiner in season 23 is called Dr.

Elena Dimos and is played by Anastasia Papadopoulou.

Like Weingartner, Papadopoulou was also allowed to sniff "episode air" in the ZDF series: she was in the 2021 episode "A flawless murder".

She was also seen in several "Tatort" episodes, including "Love, a strange game" (see photo) from Munich.

The native dialect of the actress, who was born in 1977, is Swabian - is she allowed to speak it with the "Rosenheim Cops"?

Numerous other "old acquaintances" will appear again in the 23rd season of the "Rosenheim Cops".

Starting with Marisa Burger as police secretary Miriam Stockl to Max Müller as police chief Michi Mohr and Karin Thaler as farm owner Marie Hofer.

Also on board: Ursula Burkhart and Sarah Thonig as reception duo Marianne Grasegger and Christin Lange, Christian K. Schaeffer as “Times Square” host Jo Caspar and Paul Brusa as controller Daniel Donato.

And, of course, Alexander Duda watches over everything as commissariat boss Gert Achtziger.

Rosenheim Cops: Producer promises "crime thrills and humor" for the next season

The subplots of season 23 could also be turbulent again.

It's supposed to be about Mohr's adulterated potato salad, Stadler's forgotten tuxedo or the gateway to the Rosenheim Rose Festival.

Alexander Ollig, producer at Bavaria Fiction promises: “26 new episodes, that means 26 times to solve a murder case and 26 times to outwit the little pitfalls of everyday life.

Crime thrillers and humor are once again well catered for.”

The shooting for the 26 episodes of the 23rd season is expected to last until November 2023, a broadcast date has not yet been set.

Gossip about the cops: Did you know that Karin Thaler was once a crooner and is married to her former one-night stand?

Alexander Duda has also been in good hands for decades - with an actress.
