Chief of the General Staff Major General Herzi Halevi said today (Tuesday) that the disputes concerning the legal revolution should be left outside the army - and not involve them in a dialogue with uniformed officers.
"One should not forget that choosing tasks today may lead to choosing other tasks tomorrow," emphasized Halevi.
"We need to keep the framework operational and cohesive - especially in difficult days, this is the order of the hour."
"In recent days quite a few people have been telling me: 'Choose which side of history you want to be on,'" Halevi continued.
"They are, by the way, on both sides of the dispute. And this is my answer: 'I chose,' because we chose. As soon as we put on uniforms, on duty, permanently and in the reserves, we chose to be on the side that protects the country. We chose to be the ones who make life here possible, the prosperity, and yes - also You have the right to disagree."
"Leave the disputes outside."

The Chief of Staff added that even when it is difficult - the servants must stand up and be the defenders of the state. "The area in which we live and the threats directed at us do not allow us to crack our security layer even a little," he said. "This is even more true these days - this is the order: to crowd lines and continue to defend under one IDF, prepared for each task and carried out according to IDF values, so it was and will be.
This is our excellence in Passover 2023. This is our bravery: to be the defenders of this country on the outside even when it is difficult within us, to stand up and step on the path forward, through all the bumps."
