The police are now investigating the assault.

Update, March 28, 5:45 p.m .:

Since the incident last Saturday, in which a truck driver brutally kicked an activist in the stomach, a real shitstorm has overtaken the Hamburg forwarding company.

Since then, the company has received more than 70 threatening calls.

In more than 800 reviews of the forwarding company on Google, users express their opinions.

“You get scared of having something delivered or picked up.

The reactions of the driver in Hamburg are frightening, as is the reaction of the owner," says a user who criticizes the protection of the owner of the freight forwarder.

"'You don't know what happened before?'

Let's see when the first warehouse worker or someone in processing is on the floor because something doesn't suit a company driver."

“Very aggressive drivers.

Don't just step on the gas, but also like to step on the gas in person” or “Some employees should take an anti-aggression course” are further reactions that can recently be found on the freight forwarder's Google page.

But there is also encouragement and support from the network: "Everything done right !!!!", writes another user.

"Super forwarding company with a really great employee", or "Yeah, now the climate stickers are screaming ... I give it 5 stars and I hope you buy the driver a crate of beer!" others write.

Update, March 26, 5:20 p.m .:

After the attack, allegedly by a truck driver, on an activist from the Last Generation movement in the blockade of Hamburg’s Elbe bridges, the police have initiated investigations.

A police spokesman told the German Press Agency on Sunday that she was aware of several witness reports and videos in this context.

This includes the video in which a man pulls one of the activists off the street and kicks him in the stomach.

This video had triggered numerous reactions from Internet users.

Investigations were initiated against the blockers, among other things, on suspicion of coercion.

A total of seven people were taken into custody after the action on Saturday.

Two of them are still in custody.

A judge is examining longer-term detention.

"The result is still pending," said a police spokesman.

The state protection of the State Criminal Police Office is conducting the investigation.

The left-wing faction in the Hamburg Parliament called for consequences for violent drivers.

"These thrashing and kicking people pose a risk to traffic," said environmental policy spokesman Stephan Jersch.

The AfD, in turn, demanded severe punishment for the activists.

"Anyone who repeatedly paralyzes traffic arteries must also be sentenced to imprisonment," said parliamentary group leader Dirk Nockemann.

Update, March 25, 8:25 p.m

.: The trucker's employer was quickly identified.

The logo of the Hamburg forwarding company Garbe was printed on his jacket.

Michael Garbe, owner of the forwarding agency, explained when asked by Stern: “We are absolutely against violence and of course our driver must not react like that.

The video only shows the part with the violence - but not what happened before.

We are also for climate protection, but cannot approve of these actions by the activists.

The matter has been referred to the police and is being closely investigated.

I only know the driver as a particularly polite, level-headed and peaceful employee who has never been conspicuous."

First report:

Hamburg – On Saturday morning (March 25), climate activists from the “Last Generation” group again caused traffic chaos in Hamburg.

But this time not only the blocked Elbe bridges caused a stir, but also the aggressive reactions of some drivers to the action.

With vans and several people, the group blocked traffic in the city center and in the direction of the center.

Since the A7 motorway is closed for the entire weekend, the Elbe bridges are currently the central access point for crossing the Elbe.

The action caused a complete standstill and a kilometer-long traffic jam within minutes.

But the climate protesters were not the only ones who aroused the minds of the people of Hamburg.

Drivers sometimes reacted very aggressively to the action of the climate protectors.

The police reported kicks and punches.

The spokesman explains: "The mood is still tense".

Videos were later released showing the situation on the ground.

In one of them, a truck driver can be seen pulling a protester off the road, dumping him on the sidewalk and kicking him in the stomach.

He then tries to attack a photographer before he retreats.

Police are now investigating at least one man for assault.

The climate activists had already blocked the Köhlbrand Bridge on Thursday (March 23).

The hands of the protesters were covered with asphalt and had to be milled out of the road.

The group calls for the establishment of a "social council" to deal with the question of how Germany will become climate-neutral by 2030.

Otherwise, the activists want to continue to ensure “maximum disruption of public order”.

Around 3:40 p.m., traffic on the Elbe bridges was released again on Saturday.
