"We want to realign ourselves": Mayor Braunmiller on foundations, land sales and municipal companies

The city of Miesbach wants to achieve eleven million euros through property sales.

The lion's share is accounted for by the expansion areas in the northern commercial area.

The city has 30,000 square meters there, but development areas are still to be deducted from this.

We asked Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller how this should be possible despite the water protection zone procedure.

Mr. Braunmiller, why is the expansion area in the north commercial area now a topic for sale again?

The process of expanding the water protection area is far from over.

It is true that it is difficult to sell the site, but certain uses are possible there.

There have been conflicting statements from the district office as to whether we can continue with the development.

We have now settled that.

In the city council, we decided to resume the development plan process.

That's a big pound.

But there are restrictions, right?

Yes, there is a catalog of prohibitions that applies.

On this basis, we will now create a benefit matrix, which we will use to evaluate applicants according to a points system and say goodbye to a working group.

Also part of your six-point plan is the establishment and expansion of foundations for sport, culture and social affairs.

Yes, the idea behind it is to build a financial base that is secure even in difficult times and cannot be touched.

For example, the city has had good experiences with the Anton Gilhuber Foundation.

You can build wealth and support projects.

Perhaps it is also an interesting option for one or the other citizen to support the city without having to fear that the money will be used up.

We want to reorient ourselves here.

How do you feel about this?

I want to have the possibilities of a municipal company examined, but one must also say that it is not always a panacea.

We will therefore get a consultant to have it checked.

We calculate whether it works for our possibilities and needs.

At the end there is either a black or a red number.

As an engineer, you work very closely with planners and experts.

But they don't work for free either.

Do you also see savings potential in this area?

No.

If you skimp on planning, you're skimping in the wrong place.

You just need basics.

And it's in the early stages of a project that you save the most.
