Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai announced today (Wednesday) that the Pride Parade will be held again on Herbert Samuel Promenade, after last year it was held on Sderot Rokah.

"This year, more than ever, it is important that the parade march in the center of the city, next to the sea - where its visibility is highest and the whole city can join in the celebration," Huldai explained the move in a tweet on Twitter.

"We made great efforts to make it happen and after many conversations with members of the LGBTQ community, the gay organizations and the organizers of the gay parties, we decided to return the parade this year to the Herbert Samuel Promenade - to the central and famous axis," added the mayor of Tel Aviv. "Because it is impossible to have a party in the garden Charles Clore, split the events.

Tel Aviv and Jaffa will remain a bastion of liberality and the freedom to be whoever you want, without differences of religion, race, gender and sexual orientation."

Last year, about 170,000 people participated in the 23rd Pride Parade in Tel Aviv.

The march started at 12:00 on Sderot Rokah in the city, near Sportek, and continued to the show hill in Yehoshua Gardens Park - where the main stage is located and where the main shows took place.

In preparation for the march, roads were blocked, parking lots were closed, and "N'im on the weekend" lines were reinforced. Also, the police and MDA were deployed with increased forces.
