It was at the press conference that the President gave after his meeting with Joe Biden and before a query about his possible candidacy from an EFE agency correspondent.

Alberto Fernández

was asked about his

possible re-election

in Washington, hours after having held a bilateral meeting with Joe Biden.

And the President's response was quite particular.

When asked by a journalist from the EFE agency,

he reacted

:

"Look if I am going to give that scoop to a Spanish woman."

At the press conference, where he provided details about the meeting with the President of the United States at the White House,

the last question of the round

was for the correspondent of the Spanish news agency.

After that first sentence, Fernández confirmed that she had not taken

"any definition"

yet .

"I have put all

my effort into

government management, which is what Argentina needs from me at this time," said the president, stating that the country is going through "

a very difficult time due to the drought

. "

“I have

my whole head in that problem

,” he replied.

However, Fernández left some definitions about his electoral future.

The President said:

“I am not thinking about my re-election, I am thinking about the victory

of our space.

And that's what I'm working on."

Alberto F. said Biden compared Macri to Trump

On the other hand, the President assured that his counterpart from the United States drew

a parallel between the governments of Mauricio Macri and that of Donald Trump

in terms of economic inheritance.

"Biden stressed on more than one occasion that there is

something that unites us

, which is having received a destroyed economy from the governments that preceded us," he said during the talk with journalists where he revealed some issues that were discussed during the meeting.

Fernández also pointed out that they talked about "the need to face the difficulties" of the "economy in

general bad condition

" (both in Argentina and in the United States) in the context of "a world that also has many economic problems."

Minutes later, another journalist returned to the subject to confirm whether Biden had mentioned the alleged inheritance received from the Mauricio Macri administration.

What she would later reaffirm on a mobile with the official channel C5N.

"[Biden] said three times that we had something in common, which was

having inherited a destroyed economy

from the governments that preceded us," Fernández insisted, without naming the former president.

Before answering questions from the press, the president took stock of the meeting: "It was a very good meeting that we owed each other to. It is not the first time that I have spoken with the President. We have never had the opportunity to dedicate so much time to analyzing

the concrete situation of what is happening in our countries

and in the world".

And he qualified: "I am really satisfied with the meeting, with the meeting, happy because I am convinced that the doors have been opened for a strategic work and in conjunction with the United States."
