Freising's upcoming 1300-year celebration inspires clubs and organizations to come up with a number of ideas.
Now the city is in demand as a coordinator.

– Saint Corbinian as a Playmobil figure, a Merian for Freising and a historical parade: there are numerous ideas for filling the big Freising city anniversary with life in the coming year.
The questions that the city councilors already asked themselves in the management committee on Monday: How big should the framework for the 1300-year celebration be given the difficult budget situation?
And how is the program coordinated?
“I have received inquiries from many cultural associations as to whether they can do something as part of the anniversary.
Everyone has ideas,” reported Susanne Günther (Greens).
The question now is how to deal with it.
Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher explained that an "initial brainstorming" with the clubs under the direction of the head of the cultural department, Ingo Bartha, was planned.
"The ideas of the clubs should be bundled there." It is important to him that these are special events and that the annual club events do not end up in the anniversary program.
We prefer to do less, but high quality.
FSM city councilor Monika Schwind
Monika Schwind (FSM) suggested presenting a financial calculation with the ideas.
"If the proposed events are provided with a price tag, the city council can better set a budget and then decide what we do." also offered to arrange workshops for the organizers from the city administration.
"With experts who know what works and where money is more likely to be wasted."
Richard Grimm (FW) was worried that city events could go under in the shadow of the state exhibition "Tassilo, Korbinian and the Bear", which will take place on Domberg in 2024.
"We have to do something that stands out." According to Eschenbacher, the professorship expects up to 200,000 visitors to the mons doctus.

Reinhard Fiedler (FSM) therefore sees the national event as an opportunity for the anniversary - even more: "We are incredibly lucky that the state exhibition, the 1300-year celebration and the city center redevelopment come together so perfectly.
It couldn't have gone any better to advertise our city and give tourists a reason to come to Freising.” Having your own Merian for Freising is therefore the best advertising there can be.

Eva Bönig (Greens) urged caution.
She remembered that in 1996, to mark the 1000th anniversary of market law, a film had been made that ended up being a slow seller.
In view of the budgetary situation, too, she urged restraint when it came to the production of promotional items.

One witty idea, however, was applauded by the committee: a carrying bag that, in the city colors, takes up the symbol of Korbinian's travel bundle with which, according to legend, the city patron arrived in Freising 1300 years ago.
The slogan: "Everyone has to carry their own package." The mayor's vision: "We are giving away these bags at all of our schools.

While the city still has to fill the anniversary with life, it has already presented the logo for the 1300th anniversary - and an idea that has delighted city councilors.
