A buzzard died in agony in the northern district of Erding.
The bird of prey had been shot at.
But by whom?
Langenpreising - Almost three weeks ago, passers-by found an injured buzzard in the Pottenau (Langenpreising).
A bird protector took care of the animal and brought it to the bird clinic in Oberschleißheim.
But any help came too late for the animal, as it died during the treatment.
Now it becomes a case for the police.
Because the X-ray veterinarians had found that a wing and a thigh had apparently been injured by shotgun fire.
One bullet was still in the buzzard's body.
Officials believe the bird was shot and starved to death two weeks before it was found.
