Hundreds of people are demonstrating this evening (Wednesday) in Tel Aviv against the establishment of a national guard under the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir, under the title "No to Ben Gabir's militia".

The protest is taking place simultaneously in Haifa, Jerusalem, Be'er Sheva, Holon and Rehovot.

Following the demonstration, Kaplan Street from Ibn Gvirol Street to Menachem Begin Road was blocked to traffic in both directions and the Kaplan intersection with Menachem Begin Road to the north and south.

The protesters' signs read, among other things, "When the government is against the people - the people against the government", "Ben Gabir's militia guard" and "Assault companies are not here".

The demonstrators chant "fascism will not come" and "no legal reform no racist militia".

Two days ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed with the Minister of National Security that the government would be given an extension to the next session to pass the legal revolution legislation, in exchange for promoting the "National Guard" which will be under Ben Gabir - according to the Otzma Yehudit party.

This, after Ben Gvir threatened to dissolve the government if the legislation was stopped.
