The Moosinning brass band held its first spring concert after the forced break caused by the pandemic in time for its 40th anniversary.

The youth and brass bands presented impressive pieces to over 200 spectators.

Moosinning

– Paul Huber Sr. has a bit of stage fright.

still, he admitted before the start of the concert for the 40-year-old brass band Moosinning.

And that despite the fact that the 60-year-old has been with us for 39 years.

But that is quite normal, added the Moosinninger.

After all, all the threads for the concert come together with him as chairman.

And since he started playing the trombone at the age of 21, he hasn't regretted a single day: "The cross-generational approach is particularly fun." Not like in sports clubs, for example, where different classes are separated based on age, but that it's a big community here, Huber explained.

More than 200 spectators gathered in the gymnasium of the Moosinninger elementary school at the weekend.

Because the longing for the spring concert was great.

After all, due to the pandemic, there have not been any spring concerts in recent years, said Huber.

"Thanks to years of youth work, we have youngsters again," said the chairman happily.

He thought that the 40th anniversary was a particularly good reason to return to the stage.

During the concert there were sandwiches and sparkling wine for the audience. Photos of various trips from the past few years flickered on the screen next to the stage.

The youth brass band, conducted by Monika Dollak and Lukas Huber, showed in its four pieces that the corona pandemic did not stop young people from continuing to practice diligently.

For example, they performed Stetefeld's traditional march "Into the Wide World" and film music from "The Magnificent Seven".

And Huber also noticed how quickly time flies when the awards were due: Kathrin Auerweck, Franz Gaßner jun., Johannes Huber, Lukas Huber, Peter Huber jun., Christiane Kübelsbeck, Viktoria Mössler, Peter Schuler and Stefanie Stangl were nominated for 15 years of activity awarded.

"I'm almost shocked, I always talk about the boys," said Huber with a laugh when the certificates were handed over.

Afterwards the brass band Moosinning was on stage, which opened the second third of the evening with "Amparito Roca" by Jamie Texidor.

The musicians did not hear the forced break caused by the pandemic.

From the timpani, which, thanks to Luis Weirich, could for the first time be occupied by a musician from our own ranks, to the horns, every musician was able to demonstrate their skills.

Conducted by Tibor Handler, they presented calm and melancholic tones such as Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata" and also fast and stirring numbers such as Philip Sparke's "Klezmer Karnival".

The Moosinning brass band provided an entertaining evening until Herman Blankenburg's “Farewell to the Gladiators”.

The audience was enthusiastic with loud applause, cheers and whistles.

Accordingly, musicians and listeners were unanimous in the end: It's nice that the spring concert is back.
