Marie Lavandier, its director, will leave her post in May to take over the presidency of the Center des monuments nationaux (CMN).
She will replace Philippe Bélaval, who held the house masterfully before joining the Élysée, as Cultural Advisor.
Several candidates were in line to succeed him, and it seems that Marie Lavandier did not win the piece for the sole reason that she was the only woman in the running.
"She has a solar and unifying energy that carries,"
said Rima Abdul Malak, who suggested her name to the Elysée.
"His project for the CMN reflects a modern and open vision in the relationship to the public, which heritage needs",
adds the Minister of Culture.
