Tuesday, 49 people were arrested in Nantes, during the tenth day of mobilization against the pension reform.
Among the police, there were thirteen injured.
A report that testifies to the violence and degradation committed on the sidelines of the union parade.
A journalist from Le
Figaro
noted in particular that a fire ravaged the facade of a bank branch, that a vehicle was burnt out and that a number of street furniture was destroyed.
Such acts had already occurred last Thursday during the previous parade.
That day, an SFR store had been vandalized and the entrance to the administrative court forced and degraded.
What exasperate and make grow a rant to the merchants of the city center who, for many, note a drop in attendance and their turnover.
On the side of the municipality, the fed up is also noticeable.
In the space of a week, Mayor Johanna Rolland spoke twice on the subject.

The “responsibility” of the president
Tuesday evening, she split a press release in which she denounced the
“unacceptable vandalism on the sidelines of a peaceful demonstration”
.
In the introduction, she recalled that the
"tenth demonstration organized by the united trade union front"
brought together
"several hundred thousand people
(throughout France, editor's note)
, representing the great diversity of French society"
and that the latter have
“expressed their refusal of an unjust and brutal pension reform”
.
According to the mayor of Nantes,
"by being stubborn, the President of the Republic is putting the country in tension and in a dangerous impasse"
.
Targeting Emmanuel Macron's
"responsibility"
, she calls on him not to
"let this climate continue"
but rather to
"bring calm to the country"
.
For this, she invites him to
"withdraw"
the pension reform or to
"grab the outstretched hand"
by the inter-union.
On this point, an evolution has taken place.
Elisabeth Borne, the Prime Minister thus invited the organizations behind the social movement to Matignon, “
Monday or Tuesday
” next, according to Laurent Berger, the leader of the CFDT.

“Trauma” of civil servants
In Loire-Atlantique, the violence committed on the sidelines of the last two demonstrations does not only affect Nantes.
The same phenomenon occurs in Saint-Nazaire.
In the port city, four arrests took place on Tuesday and a policeman was injured.
The PS mayor, David Samzun, also wrote a press release.
It is similar in substance to that of Johanna Rolland.
Denouncing
“an episode of urban violence towards the police and public buildings”
, in particular the Town Hall.
This damage
“will have a cost for the local taxpayer”
, regrets the city councilor who also evokes the
“trauma of municipal officials who work for the public good”
and whose
“thugs have nothing to do”
.
Just like his colleague from Nantes, he challenges the government and the President of the Republic.
According to David Samzun, the latter
"must listen without delay to the deep disavowal which has been expressed for months on the substance and form of this reform"
.
