While major works continue at the Grand Palais and the Palais de la Découverte (Paris 8th), closed for restoration since March 2021 (for the first) and October 2020 (for the second), with a reopening planned from Paris Olympics 2024 and until 2025, the Réunion des musées nationaux has just made an announcement that will interest gourmets.

The famous chef Thierry Marx (two stars at the Mandarin Oriental, recent president of Umih and recently head of the Onor restaurant), was chosen to imagine the restaurant inside the two museums.
He thus succeeds Éric Frechon, whose Mini Palais, which he piloted with the Ludéric group, has closed its doors for good.
The chef won the call for tenders with SSP France, a catering giant in transport and travel locations, which notably manages restaurants in Roissy, Orly, Gare de Lyon (Le Train Bleu) and Gare Montparnasse.
“The Grand Palais is one of the places that shaped my imagination as a child of Ménilmontant. From my visits to the Palais de la Découverte to the many exhibitions I have seen as well as recent culinary events, this place has always accompanied me. I am very happy to be able to introduce my cuisine to visitors. My job as a craftsman borders on giving memory to the ephemeral and where to do it better than here accompanied by the SSP teams.”

The restaurant, whose opening is scheduled for April 2025, should embrace a committed, responsible, innovative and ecological cuisine, faithful to the credos of the chef who has notably launched a cooking school for people in reintegration.
