The murder, the conviction - and the conspiracies: the Zadorov trial comes to a dramatic end // special project >>>

Tair Rada, a month before her 14th birthday, an 8th grade student, was murdered on December 6, 2006 at the "Nopi Golan" school in Katsrin.

Her body was discovered in a locked bathroom stall, around 7 in the evening, after hours of searching, with her throat slit and knife cuts on her body.

Four days after the murder, Roman Zadorov, now 44 years old from Katsrin, who was working at the school during those days, was detained for questioning.

Two days later it was decided to arrest him.

About a week later, in custody, he confessed to Madovev in his cell that he was the murderer.

On December 19, 2006, he admitted the act and repeated it.

A day later he changed his lawyer and retracted his confession.

In his decision to hold a retrial, Hanan Meltzer, then Supreme Court Judge and Deputy President of the Court, recommended that the parties consider focusing on four key issues: the presence of foreign footprints at the scene of the murder, the leakage of blood on top of the shoe print on the toilet lid, the bloodstain of the deceased that was discovered In the third cell and seeing the mitochondrial DNA, a hair with a root from which nuclear DNA can be extracted.

In nuclear DNA, the identification is certain.

The issue of mitochondrial DNA, on which the defense attorney lingered for a long time, concerns one of those issues; it is a theory presented by the defense, in an attempt not only to acquit Zadorov, but also to point to an accused in the murder; Halevi dealt extensively with the version of a man named Adir Habani, that five and a half years after the murder He testified to the police that his girlfriend, Ola Kravchenko, told him on the day of the murder that she was the one who murdered Tair Rada. Kravchenko, who went by the name AK and lived with him in a marital system that included abuse on his part, claimed that he was treating her with a malicious plot stemming from his desire to take revenge on her because broke up with him.

She and Habani testified in the retrial, the hearings were closed.

Havni's version gained a strong backing following a documentary television program called "Shadow of Emet" that dealt with the murder case.

According to Habani's version, his girlfriend was wearing his clothes at the time of the murder.

Hairs were indeed found at the scene of the murder, the mitochondrial DNA of which may match Habani's dynastic DNA.
