Munich – He is one of the best-known faces of
Bavarian Radio
and one of the most influential voices in radio: Christoph Deumling.
The 65-year-old has now announced that he is retiring.

dwdl.de , the presenter will be presenting his last “evening show” on

, next Friday, March 31st
.
"In the ARD and in the BR we are all talking about a brain strategy.
What is meant by this is that there must be prominent personalities who stand for ARD and Bayerischer Rundfunk.
Christoph Deumling is such a head.
He carries and represents our values,” says Thomas Hinrichs, Program Director Information at
Bayerischer Rundfunk,

BR legend Deumling is retiring - he became particularly well-known through the Wiesn
Deumling began his
BR
career in 1984, first as a radio presenter at Bayern 3, then also at Bayern 1. He gained notoriety through moderating the show "Today in the Stadium", which he presented until the very end.
The 65-year-old even received the Bavarian Sports Prize for it.

On television, Deumling has presented "Bayern im Erste", "Rolle backwards" and, for around 18 years now, the "Abendschau".
Until 2021, he also moderated the Oktoberfest start in Munich for almost 30 years or, since 2011, the Nockherberg review "Sauber derbleckt".

BR ,” says Deumling.
For the BR, Hinrichs, Deumling was a real stroke of luck: "He was and is an ideal ambassador for all the good things we stand for.
I'm very grateful, because Christoph Deumling gave a lot to the BR and the audience."
