A serious fire affected a residential building in Bonneuil-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) this Wednesday evening March 29, killing one person and injuring three people, said the mayor of the city in a press release.

The toll is heavy for our city, our inhabitants and the civil servants of the Public Service.
One of our residents unfortunately lost her life (...) We have three people in absolute emergency, including an official from our municipality
, ”wrote Denis Öztorun.
The vital prognosis of the three injured is however not engaged.

The fire started at 1 rue Jean-Moulin, on the fourth floor, before progressing to the fifth.
According to a police source in Le

residents jumped from their balconies to escape the flames
".
At the height of the fire, more than 180 firefighters, accompanied by 54 trucks, were deployed.
