A Golani patrol soldier was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) on suspicion of beating a Palestinian detainee at an outpost in Samaria.
According to a military official in the Shomron regional division, the army opened an investigation based on a report in the unit according to which a Palestinian who was arrested on suspicion of throwing stones at the troops and cars was beaten under unclear circumstances at the "Hasela" outpost where he was interrogated.
The information was passed on by the commanders of the Golani patrol to senior commanders, and finally it was decided to inform the military police who started investigating the case.
The response of the IDF spokesperson has not yet been provided.
