A man collapsed on Tuesday in the Zwiesel area with a circulatory collapse.

Although first responders and then the mountain rescue service tried to revive the man, any help came too late.

Bad Tölz/Wackersberg – The Oberland integrated rescue control center alerted the operations manager of the mountain rescue service and the Bad Tölz mountain rescue service on Tuesday afternoon at around 2:20 p.m.

In the area of the "Moaralm" - it is located in the area between Waldherralm and Zwiesel - a farmer had collapsed with a circulatory collapse.

The site was located about 100 meters below the Alm using the so-called "What3Words" coordinates.

In this system, the entire surface of the earth is divided into three by three meter squares, each of which has three words assigned to it.

"This simplifies and accelerates the location for rescue workers considerably," says the mountain rescue service.

“Moaralm”: First aiders begin with cardiac massage under telephone guidance

When the patient's state of health was queried, "it turned out that he was suffering from cardiac arrest".

Under the telephone guidance of the mountain rescue operations manager, the first responders who were present immediately began the cardiac massage.

They also made sure that the patient lying in the snow did not get cold.

Mountain rescuers can be on site within a quarter of an hour

At the same time, the operations manager alerted the mountain rescue emergency doctor Isarwinkel and a rescue helicopter.

The Bad Tölz mountain rescue service immediately responded with two paramedics and a mountain rescuer.

Despite the fresh snow, they were on site within a quarter of an hour after the emergency call was received.

The operations manager also picked up an emergency doctor from the Lenggries mountain rescue service on the way and reached the site together with the forces.

Despite all attempts at resuscitation, the man dies at the scene

At this point, the resuscitation of the first responders had already been running for 15 minutes.

"Unfortunately, neither the mountain rescue team, together with the mountain rescue doctor, nor the crew of the rescue helicopter requested for the transport, were able to prevent the death of the patient," reports the mountain rescue service.

The crisis intervention team of the Bergwacht Hochland took over the care of the first responders.

The Bad Tölz mountain rescue service, together with a police mountain guide, transported the deceased down into the valley.
