This revolt crosses all Western democracies: that of the middle and working classes considering themselves dispossessed at the same time on the social, cultural and democratic level, argues Christophe Guilluy.

Although it is framed by the unions and the left parties, the social movement is supported, according to him, by an ordinary majority pushing for a slow political recomposition in the direction of "a return to the sovereignty of the people".
