2023-03-30T09:37:46.151Z

How to prepare these sweet bombas at home without breaking the base and with a good balance of flavors and textures.

The days leading up to Easter, with supermarket shelves overflowing with chocolate eggs of all sizes, are the panacea for

those with a sweet tooth

.

That population that always asks for more and that found in the

Easter egg filled with candies, cookies and chocotorta -among other variants- its most extreme and succulent fantasy come true.

They are not a novelty.

The half chocolate shell filled

with the most varied creams and decorated with fruits, candies and chocolates

turned the classic egg into a dessert to share with the family.

A few years ago

the trend exploded on networks like Instagram and TikTok

.

Some showed the recipe because they sold them.

Others just to show how they were eaten and to tempt their audience.

The concept of greedy

food porn

to the maximum was installed among us.

It is enough to enter the hashtag #huevodepascua on the networks to see hundreds of professional or amateur pastry chefs showing off their gourmet creations.

Some very improvised.

Others, true works of pastry art.

The good news is that it is very easy to make them at home.

The first thing to keep in mind is that

the base should not be too thin

as it must support the weight of the filling.

So that it does not break,

a good trick is to fill it directly where it is going to be presented.

Although it seems that it is more complicated to make this format than the traditional one, the reality is different:

they are much simpler since the covers do not even have to be glued.

Another benefit that they have is that if the inside of the half egg is not too neat, no one will find out since it is covered by the chosen filling.

Of course you can also fill purchased eggs.

In this case, the key is to go for an industrial egg (instead of the classic bakery one) whose two halves are not usually joined with chocolate or sugar and therefore are easier to separate neatly.

As for the fillings, there are no exceptions or limitations.

It is recommended to use a cream

that can be whipped cream, pastry chef, lemon curd (lemon cream type for lemon pie), dulce de leche, dulce de leche mixed with cream cheese, ganache

and some dough

that provides a soft texture such as pieces of sponge cake, bits brownies, cookies, vanillas, etc.

If we are going to fill a purchased egg, the ideal is that it does not have chocolate or sugar in the union between its two halves.

And finally,

the toppings that are not only decoration but also add crispness, flavor and colour.

For example, fresh raspberry chocolates dipped in chocolate, peanut paste chocolates cut in half, mini chocolates, sweet gummies and various candies are very good.

Cakes are not left out of this Easter trend.

If you want to replicate a particular cake, you can make layers, cut them and place them inside the chocolate lid, interspersing them with the filling.

In this way you will get

an egg stuffed with red velvet, chocotorta, lemon pie, bombón cake

, to name a few.

For the filling to amalgamate and absorb the flavors that accompany it, it is advisable to prepare it beforehand.

If you are going to enjoy it on Sunday, it is better to put it together on Saturday afternoon.

Depending on the ingredients of the filling, the egg should be evaluated if it should be kept in the refrigerator until serving time.

If it has dairy, yes or yes, it should be kept in the cold, although this is the main enemy of chocolate.

What can happen is that the base sweats a little.

Nothing serious.

To protect it, the ideal is to cover it with a bag or an airtight container.
