The Likud strongly denied today (Thursday) the series of publications by the journalist Michael Shemesh on Kan 11, according to which the office of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara Netanyahu coordinated with the chairman of the Histadrut, Arnon Bar David, regarding the announcement of the general strike before the suspension of the legal revolution.
Bar David also issued a denial today to the claim that he was coordinated with the Prime Minister's office.
The Likud stated that "Not only were Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife Sara not involved in the Histadrut strike, they strongly opposed it and made this clear to the Histadrut chairman and his wife in telephone conversations after the strike broke out.
They said that the strike is a serious mistake that harms the citizens of Israel and that it should stop immediately."
The Likud statement actually confirms that there were indeed contacts between Netanyahu and his wife and between the chairman of the Histadrut and his wife;
Only that, according to the Likud, they were after the strike broke out and included an unequivocal demand to end it.

The chairman of the Histadrut Bar David also denied the publication and called it "a baseless claim, a journalistic fiction that has nothing to do with the truth." He said, "For over three decades I have dedicated my life to public service and what always guides me in my decisions is the good of the country.
I have always been and forever will remain the number 1 soldier of the State of Israel.
"The decision I made to shut down the economy is one of the most difficult I have ever known - if only from the recognition of the magnitude of the responsibility that rests on my shoulders. This was the first strike in the history of the Israeli economy in which the heads of the economy and the leaders of the business sector sided with the Histadrut. The Histadrut will continue to stand as a wall in a way for Israeli society, and will act through all the channels at its disposal against polarization and for the unification of the divisions in the nation."
The Histadrut and the business sector announced a strike in the economy on Monday, after Netanyahu fired Yoav Galant from the post of Defense Minister - after he called for a halt to the legal revolution legislation.
The strike was canceled after about 10 hours, when Netanyahu announced the delay of the legislation.
