The 27 EU member states on Tuesday approved the end of heat engines in new cars from 2035, formalizing a green light already granted the day before.
The text must allow new cars to no longer emit any CO2 from the middle of the next decade.
On Wednesday, the announcement was reinforced by binding targets to deploy electricity and hydrogen charging stations at regular intervals along major highways.
This morning, MEPs reach an agreement to reach 42.5% renewable energy by 2030.
