Hospital: the increase in night work and extended guards

2023-03-30T17:43:31.692Z

Pending a plan on the remuneration of night work and permanence announced by Emmanuel Macron, the emergency measures taken this summer will again be extended until August 31.

“Within the hospital, it is necessary to open the

site on the remuneration of night work and permanence

“, had declared Emmanuel Macron during his wishes to the caregivers.

While waiting for this major project to be completed, the emergency measures taken this summer, initially planned until September 30, 2022 and then extended until the end of March, will again be extended until August 31.

The Minister of Health, François Braun, announced Thursday the maintenance

of "increased hourly allowances for night work and on-call allowances

" for staff working in public health establishments, until August 31, 2023. The revaluation of the night work concerns non-medical staff and midwives;

that of on-call allowances for doctors and interns.

This measure aims to recognize “

the particular constraints

” attached to night work, indicates the minister, but also to deal with the difficulties and tensions anticipated on the supply of care in the coming weeks and months.

This system is maintained until the project on the remuneration of night work and the permanence of care "

has resulted in structural measures

", in view of the first work of the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs (Igas), expected in April.

In a previous report, Igas had quantified the cost of the increase in night hardship at 744 million euros over a full year and warned of the “

very likely demobilization of personnel in the event of suspension of the measure

”.

She recommended opening negotiations quickly on the global recognition of arduous work.
