The
Vehicle Technical Verification (VTV)
will have changes in the City in a short time.
The Buenos Aires Legislature approved the project that modifies the current regulation and
extends the deadlines for both the first inspection and the following ones in vehicles up
to 8 years old.
The project of the United Republican legislator, who is part of the Vamos Juntos interblock,
Roberto García Moritán,
has as its main objectives to bring
the term of the first zero kilometer VTV for cars to 4 years
.
And it obliges to carry out the process every
24 months
until the units are 8 years old from the original patenting.
What was not changed were the
60,000 kilometer limit
to make the first VTV.
That is, if that limit is reached before 4 years old, the owner of the vehicle has up to 4,000 kilometers of tolerance to verify the car.
In the same sense, the benefit of doing it
every 24 months
until the eighth year of the car will be extinguished if the ride exceeds
80 thousand kilometers.
The Buenos Aires Legislature approved a law to change the deadlines for making VTV in the City.
Another
of the key points of the project opens the possibility for
more workshops to join,
after bidding processes, as options to make VTV.
Currently there are
seven plants
enabled in different neighborhoods of the City, although most are concentrated in the South zone.
Once the law approved this Thursday is regulated,
mechanical workshops may be added,
for example, that meet the necessary requirements for revisions.
In addition, and unlike what happens now, the plants and workshops may have other activities, such as buying and selling cars or mechanical assistance in general.
"For us it was essential that
the offer of verifiers be expanded.
Once the law is approved, a good, more open model is achieved, where private individuals who meet the necessary conditions can join. This is how the offer available to people will be expanded, generating competition and new possibilities", explained García Moritán about one of the most critical points of the reform.
"This project is one more step to continue transforming the State, so that it is
more efficient and simplifies life for all Buenos Aires
when it comes to carrying out procedures. In a country like ours, it is necessary to continue working so that any procedure is simpler and more agile", said Lucio Lapeña, from UCR-Evolución.
The initiative, endorsed by the Buenos Aires executive branch, was presented by the head of government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, who is also a pre-candidate for president, as a "relief" for the pocket.
It is that those who have zero kilometer vehicles will lower the number of verifications from six times to three in the first eight years.
It is that
the procedure increased by 80% in February
, with which it went to $ 7,242, and will suffer another rise in May.
It will cost $9,296, which will total
an increase of 130%
compared to the value it had until last month.
The new law also extends the gratuity for retirees who earn
up to two minimum wages.
And it maintains it for people with disabilities.
A study made based on the data obtained in the seven plants in which the VTV is made, which was used as an argument in the project, maintains that 14.7%
of the cars between four and seven years old do not exceed the verification
.
From the eighth year on, the percentage of rejected vehicles doubles and represents 30.6%.
The seven plants that operate in the City are at Vélez Sarsfield 566, Barracas;
Santa Maria del Buen Aire 1001, Barracas;
Herrera 1995, Barracas;
Osvaldo Cruz 1711, Barracas;
February 27, 5483, Pompeii;
Donado 973, Villa Ortúzar: and Tronador 115/151, Paternal.
The month in which it must be done is determined by the termination number of the license plate of each vehicle, and
the turns are obtained through the website www.suvtv.com.ar/turnos.
It is recommended to take them out one month in advance.
Every year about 750,000 vehicles located in the City carry out the process.
Once carried out,
it is mandatory to carry the respective wafer on the windshield and the certificate that is granted
.
The fine for not doing so amounts to $41,168.
