The share of immigration is increasing everywhere in France

Nearly 7 million immigrants are officially registered

The total population in France in 2021 was 67.6 million.

Within this group, the share of immigrants (people born abroad and residing on the territory) represented 10.3%, or 6.9 million individuals.

This proportion was 6.5% in 1968 and

“around 7.4% from 1975 to the end of the 1990s”
