In this month of March, the four most downloaded applications in the United States are of Chinese origin.
With 7.4 million downloads in one month, TikTok is naturally part of this quartet.
But we must add the CapCut video editing service, also published by ByteDance (6.7 million), the king of ultra-low-cost fashion Shein (6.3 million), and above all Temu (10 million).
Launched last September, this Western version of the Pinduoduo e-commerce platform quickly seduced American consumers looking for very low prices for everyday products.
It doesn't matter if the packages, shipped from China, arrive much slower than an Amazon order: the good deal comes first.
If the French landscape is more diversified, Chinese platforms have also made a place for themselves, like TikTok and its 22 million monthly users.
