Turkish Parliament ratifies Finland's NATO membership


Finland's bid has now been endorsed by all of the organization's 30 member states. That of Sweden, filed at the same time, remains blocked by Ankara.

The Turkish parliament unanimously ratified Finland's membership of NATO on the evening of March 30, which had been blocked since last May, a few days after the Hungarian deputies on Monday.

The Finnish candidacy, now approved by all 30 NATO member states, was ratified by the votes of the 276 voting deputies, according to the voting operations broadcast live on television, but that of Sweden, submitted simultaneously , remains blocked by Ankara.
