Communists prefer to do things their own way.
Invited to Matignon next Tuesday by Elisabeth Borne, alongside other parliamentary groups and parties, the members of the PCF have chosen to decline this invitation.
Instead, deputies and senators launched a “
solemn appeal from parliamentarians to the attention of the President of the Republic
”.
In a press release released Thursday, the elected officials thus announced that they were leading “
a republican procession of parliamentarians
”, leaving from the National Assembly and going to the Élysée Palace on Tuesday April 4 at 10:30 a.m.
They propose for this to the 252 elected signatories of the request for a referendum of shared initiative (RIP) to join them, to deliver once to the Élysée, "
in person
", a letter to Emmanuel Macron.
With a message: “
Mr. President, withdraw your plan to raise the retirement age to 64
years.

Via this press release, the Communists also salute the "
tremendous mobilization of the people
", accusing the Head of State "
and his government
" of having "
reacted with authoritarianism by using in an abusive and misguided manner the mechanisms of rationalized parliamentarism
" .
.
"
Our country is therefore facing a democratic coup to impose this reform on the people
", they conclude.
