Guillermo Francella and a little-known past: his beginnings as a journalist and the day he was fired from Gente magazine

Before being an actor, the comedian tried to enter the medium in another way, but it did not go well for him.

Guillermo Francella was a guest on the

Antes que Nadie

program  on Luzu TV

, where his daughter Johanna works, to promote his new film,

La extorción

.

But in addition to talking about the film, there the actor reviewed his career in the media and recalled the difficult and bitter beginning that his foray into the media had when he was a journalist for Gente

magazine

.

"I finished high school and I was not very sure what to do, I did not want to enter any career to enter and

the only thing I liked was the theater

," recalled Francella, who from that time on was very clear about how she wanted to earn a living.

Later, the now-renowned artist

explained how he came to work as a journalist

: "My parents were very prawns, they told me: 'Study theater, but look for something parallel to eat', I didn't know what to do and I liked oral journalism, I didn't writing, that is, interviewing, having a lectern".

Guillermo Francella visited the Luzu TV studios, where his daughter Johanna works.

And he added when remembering his beginnings as a graphic editor: "

I worked in

Gente

magazine , (the journalist) Alfredo Serra was a friend of an uncle of mine, I went to do the interview and they took me the summer months."

However, although his story was going well up to then, he later recounted that his stay in the classic magazine of Editorial Atlántida was not very long-lasting: "After Alfredo went on vacation, I was left alone and when all the permanent staff arrived, I had no where to sit;

it was kind of weird and they ripped me off."

The famous actor recalled who was in charge of firing him and the bond they have now: "Jorge de Luján Gutiérrez cuts me, who to this day tells me: 'I saved your life', and I tell him: 'No, I didn't You saved my life, at

that time I was an asshole, you made me suffer, I was walking down the destroyed Paseo Colón'".

Francella said she studied journalism because she thought she couldn't make a living from the theater.

Regarding the reasons why he was separated from that job as a photojournalist, Francella assured:

"There was no solid element to throw me out,

there was no place, Alfredo (Serra) gave me a hand, they put me in, they made me make notes on the street If they didn't find me, it was because I had gone to talk to the girls from Para Ti (the magazine shares an editorial with

Gente

) and they didn't like that, that I would crack up."

One of his first acting jobs

Luckily for the artist, when his career as a journalist was coming to an abrupt end, he had already started acting: "

I had done a commercial for a vermouth

, when it comes out they ask me about it in the newsroom and I said: 'What Can't you make advertisements?', because I was the protagonist of an important brand and I

already felt that everything was being questioned, everything was frowned upon

".

Francella comes from filling the Gran Rex with "Married with children".

After that appearance in a commercial, the father of Johanna and Nicolás was fired from Gente

magazine

, but

even today he still does not know exactly what were the reasons for dispensing with his services:

"It did not go through a matter of conduct or my ineffectiveness , but they cut me open and then this life of mine began."

A long time later, already with an important name in the industry and the media, the artist became a figure of the place where he had been kicked out: "When I was on the

cover of

Gente

, it was the dream of my life

, I saw it in the kiosks (to the magazine) I couldn't believe it, I bought eight copies".

Beyond the bad moment and the initial setbacks,

Guillermo still has pleasant memories of his colleagues

: "It is today that I have a good relationship with everyone and they laugh that it was, as they say, that they saved my life" .
