Manual work: the strange syndrome that causes an orgasm in the foot - voila! Sheee

2023-04-03T15:49:20.578Z

We have not heard of such a thing yet - a neurological syndrome that causes spontaneous and uncontrollable orgasms through contact with... the foot. why is it happening? The answer is at least as strange as the question

The connection between the feet and the genitals is not as ambiguous as one might think, it turns out.

A strange medical condition that we learned about very recently is "foot orgasm" syndrome.

What it means?

A sensation of sexual orgasm produced by touching the foot, which may perhaps give some explanation as to why there are so many foot fetishists.

A 55-year-old woman living in the Netherlands came to receive medical treatment due to "unwanted orgasmic sensations originating in her left leg".

The doctors checked and discovered that the symptoms first appeared after her gallbladder was removed, after which she began to experience an unusual tingling sensation in her left leg.

The doctors attributed it to nerve damage called dysesthesia and prescribed her a daily dose of antidepressants to ease the symptoms.

Within just a few days of taking paroxetine, the woman began to experience "orgasmic sensations occurring spontaneously from her left foot."

"The sensations ran from her left leg through her left calf to her vagina and to her head, and felt like a true orgasm, lasting (about 5-6 seconds), in the absence of sexual desire or sexual thoughts. The orgasmic sensations were often accompanied by vaginal lubrication and urinary incontinence," wrote the authors of the study.

At its peak, this could happen about five to six times a day - she was embarrassed by the situation as it could pop up at any moment without warning.

The researchers discovered that the opposite also works - the cross-wiring in the brain allows a sensation to be evoked in the foot by touching the skin to the left of the vulva, and stimulation of a small area on her left foot will cause her to feel sexual sensations instantly.

The doctors did scans of her foot and ankle, which didn't reveal anything too unusual, and through a number of different scans and tests, they surmised that the problem might be stemming from her nervous system.

In fact, they theorized that nerve damage caused sensory information to be misinterpreted by the brain, which crossed sensory inputs to her left leg and her genitalia.

It's a lot less weird than it sounds.

Vilayanur Ramachandran, director of the Center for Brain and Cognition at the University of California, San Diego, explains that the part of the brain that processes the sensation people get from the feet is close to the part that responds and transmits to genital stimulation.

Given its physical proximity to the brain, he argued, it's not surprising that the "body image map" of some people with nerve damage can become a little confused, resulting in the two sensations getting mixed up.

Sheee admits that she is a little jealous of those who have this syndrome, and along the way she scheduled a pedicure for herself
