The former president was shown with Andrés Ibarra, former minister of Cambiemos who will go for the highest position at the La Ribera club.

After announcing that he will not run as a candidate for the presidential elections, Mauricio Macri approaches the politics of Boca Juniors.

This time the wink was made by

appearing in a video with one of the candidates who will face Juan Román Riquelme

in the club's elections.

On the day that the

Xeneize club turns 118

, the former Cambiemos president appeared in a video of the candidate Andrés Ibarra, former minister of Cambiemos management.

After the former president's step aside, speculation about his return to the club he led between 1996 and 2008, the club's most successful period in terms of football achievements (16 titles), began to grow.

Now he can be seen in

a short video

in which he is about to blow out a birthday candle on a cake with the colors blue and yellow, and which ends with the slogan "Passion plus management. Andrés Ibarra president 2023".

Now it remains to be confirmed if Macri will occupy a position on the opposition list that will face the management headed by Jorge Amor Ameal and Riquelme.

Presentation of Andrés Ibarra as a candidate for president of Boca in 2023, with the presence of Mauricio Macri and former soccer players.

Ibarra was general manager during Macri's tenure at the club and

was also Minister of Modernization and Deputy Chief of Staff

.

In addition, he was in charge of marketing management in Daniel Angelici's first management at Xeneize.

In November,

Macri was present at the "Historical Deed", an event in which the golden age of the

La Ribera club was remembered, which had the former head of state as its highest authority and where Ibarra made official his intentions to come to power .

Some of the footballers who made up the glorious 'Bianchi era' were present at that meeting.

Among them, Sebastián Battaglia, Rolando Schiavi, Roberto Abbondanzieri and Diego Cagna.

In addition, the messages that Rodolfo Arruabarrena and Guillermo Barros Schelotto sent from abroad were projected.

Also present were the head of the Buenos Aires Cabinet, Felipe Miguel, the First Vice President of the Council of the Magistracy of the City of Buenos Aires, Francisco Quintana, and members of the famous "Mundo Boca", among them the former president of the Angelici club.

Days ago, after announcing that he will not be a candidate for president, Macri gave a series of interviews where he talked about Boca and

showed his anger with Riquelme.

"I don't have [the fantasy of returning] but

I am very upset with everything that is happening

now because it is the opposite of what I say: no to personalities. Boca has become a personalism of someone that I brought to the club two times", he stated about Vice President Xeneize.

"I recognize everything that must be recognized as a player because he was incredible. Now, this arrogant, arbitrary, authoritarian way of driving is useless," added Macri, about the club's strong man.

In the world of football, the former president also occupies an institutional role: he heads the FIFA Foundation.

In the last few hours, even Carlos Bianco - from Axel Kicillof's kidney - crossed it saying that for him it is "more important to be president of FIFA than of the Nation".

Macri denied that he is looking for the chair that Gianni Infantino occupies today - and at least until 2027.
