Placed in reserve for more than 20 years, the furniture in Doctor Dugoujon's room, in which Jean Moulin was arrested in 1943, will return to its original place.

On June 21, 1943, Jean Moulin and his companions were arrested in Caluire-et-Cuire in the house of Doctor Dugoujon.

As part of the 80th anniversary of the commemoration of the death of the leader of the resistance in France during the Second World War, the town decided on March 7 to present the doctor's living room furniture in Caluire, as it was in 1943.

Thus, five pieces of furniture, including chairs, two armchairs and a bench, on which Jean Moulin was probably seated when he was arrested, will be presented again in the house of Doctor Dugoujon, which has now become the memorial Jean-Moulin and listed in the inventory of Historic Monuments since 2010.

In 1966, when he had become mayor of Caluire, Frédéric Dugoujon donated the furniture of his living room to the first museum of the Resistance and the Deportation of the City of Lyon.

At the time, a reconstruction of the premises was offered to visitors until the museum moved to the current location of the CHRD, in 1992. Since then, the furniture, stored in reserve, was no longer exhibited.

After the arrest of Jean Moulin, the doctor was imprisoned in the Montluc prison before being released on January 17, 1944.
