A security source estimated that if the Iranians are not "satisfied" with this action, and try to carry out similar moves in the near future - it is assumed that the IDF will also be "forced" to respond, in order to deter the Iranian forces operating from inside Syria. At this stage, according to the security source, Israel is conducting itself within the framework of the war between the wars (the campaign between the wars - IV) above the threshold of deterrence and below the threshold of escalation. According to him, if the Iranians wise up and see the lack of an Israeli response as a weakness, the IDF will respond.

It will be mentioned that the last attack attributed to Israel in Syria, apart from the one from tonight, happened on the night between Saturday and Sunday, when, according to the Assad regime, targets throughout the Homs district in central Syria were attacked.
In Damascus they claimed that five soldiers were injured during the attack, and that property was damaged.
A few hours later, on Sunday evening, the IDF intercepted the aircraft in question that entered Israeli territory from Syria, in what was perceived by the security establishment as a kind of reaction, possibly Iranian, to the recent attacks attributed to Israel in Syria.
