The mayor of New York addressed the fear of riots surrounding the criminal hearing that will be held tomorrow for Trump in court in the case of the porn actress: "Whoever is caught in an act of violence - will be arrested." The White House is also following the procedure, fearing a repeat of the Capitol break-in scenario. Trump before his departure: "This is a witch hunt"

Donald Trump, the former president of the United States and the first among the presidents to face criminal charges, left this evening (Monday) on his private plane from Florida to New York.

There, he will turn himself in to the district attorney, who will hold a hearing for him regarding the charges that he paid an appearance fee to porn actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

Upon his extradition, Trump will likely have to allow prosecutors to take his fingerprints, and then appear before a judge.

He is expected to plead not guilty.

At this stage, the indictment against him will be revealed, the exact contents of which are still unknown.

However, according to estimates, the indictment includes about 30 counts.

After the hearing, he will be released, according to the predictions, because the charges against him do not include violence.

Earlier today, Trump left his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida in a motorcade to the airport in Palm Beach, where he boarded a plane with his entourage.

Before leaving, he published a post on social media in which he said that this was a "witch hunt" and that "our country, which was once great, is going to hell."

Several dozen of Trump's fans cheered him at the airport.

He arrived in New York, where he is staying in Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, and from there he went to court tomorrow morning, for a hearing with Judge Juan Marchan, who last year convicted Trump's real estate company of fraud. The judge will decide whether to allow filming of the proceedings. Trump claimed Friday that Judge Marchan "hates him."

The police in New York already this weekend began to set up barriers along the sidewalks around Trump Tower and in the Manhattan Criminal Court area.

Demonstrators are expected to arrive at these sites tomorrow, and the authorities in New York fear disturbances.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said: "While some rioters are thinking of coming to our city tomorrow, our message is simple - control yourselves. New York is our home, not the playground of your anger."

He said he would not allow violence or vandalism of any kind.

"If someone is caught in an act of violence, they will be arrested and charged, no matter who they are," Adams said.

The White House also commented on the expected event today, saying that they are "monitoring the situation".

The fear is of a violent outbreak along the lines of the Capitol break-in after Trump lost the election.

The jury voted in favor of indicting the former president for crimes related to the payment of $130,000 to porn actress Stormy Daniels, who threatened in 2016 - during Trump's presidential campaign - to reveal the brief relationship she had with him in 2006, when he was already married to Melania.

Trump denies that he had a relationship with her.

Trump spent last weekend with his close advisers at his estate in Florida planning a political strategy, after the news of the criminal indictment filed against him caught him and his staff by surprise, according to a source privy to the details.

According to the source, Trump is in a good mood because the new polls that came out after the report of the indictment against him in the "hush money" case found that he has significantly widened the gap with his current biggest opponent in the Republican Party, who has not yet announced his candidacy for the 2024 election, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, as well as against other potential opponents.
