Former President Donald Trump, solemn and leaning forward in his seat, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to 34 criminal charges for falsifying documents in his alleged involvement in paying hush money to two women for extramarital affairs, allegedly with funds from his 2016 presidential campaign.
Photojournalists captured the historic images of Trump, dressed in a blue suit, white shirt and red tie, inside the Manhattan (New York) courthouse where he became the first former president in United States history to face criminal charges.
Trump
did not have the traditional police photo taken
and television cameras were prohibited inside the courtroom, although his photographs in the defendant's dock are already historic.
These are some of the images captured throughout the day, which portray the protests for and against the former president, whose supporters and detractors gathered outside the court to cheer and boo him at the same time.
