The conveyor involved in the robbery of Chavornay returns to prison.

Yusuf K., who appeared under judicial supervision after having carried out three years of preventive in this case, was found guilty of having contributed to the hijacking of his van, relieved of 25 million euros on February 8, 2018. The court Assizes of Lyon sentenced him on Wednesday to six years in prison, of which he therefore has half to serve.

A sentence below the requisitions of the Advocate General, which could be quickly adjusted.

As for a possible appeal of this verdict, welcomed with difficulty by the family of the conveyor, his lawyer, Me Julien Charle, did not wish to pronounce on this subject in the immediate future.

If he has always proclaimed his innocence, the testimonies of the two Swiss condemned on the other side of the Alps last summer in this case, seem to have won the conviction of the jurors.

The hearing also made it possible to collect the testimony of the daughter of the other conveyor, sequestered in Lyon, and of her father, who had been suspected during the investigation.

More than 22 million euros in nature

The alleged mastermind of this resounding robbery, in which more than 22 million euros were not found, was sentenced in his absence to sixteen years' imprisonment.

While he was presumed on the run, the hearing was marked by the revelation of his arrest in Tunisia, where Mehdi A. would have been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

His alleged lieutenant in this case will for his part be judged later, his file having been disjoined due to hospitalization.

Another defendant, Mehdi B., prosecuted for having contributed to this association of criminals by scouting, was acquitted, as his lawyer Sylvain Cormier had complained to the court.

Finally, the third and last defendant present, Pascal G., was sentenced to four years in prison, two of which were suspended.

He has already served one in pre-trial detention and will see his sentence adjusted.

He was found guilty in his role as nanny of the 2.5 million euros found buried in the garage of his pavilion.

A simple concealment finally, for the one who has always maintained not to know the known of the military canteen containing the only tickets ever found in this case.
