That of a France which, faithful to its tradition, demonstrates against the reforms, this time with a dose of violence and the heaping up of garbage cans, which certain foreign newspapers make their fat cabbage.
Admittedly, the strikes weigh little, in a macroeconomic way, on the activity of the country.
Barely one or two tenths of a point of GDP, if we refer to previous movements of the same magnitude.
We are obviously far from the impact that the country's shutdown had in 1968 with the general strike, which then caused GDP to fall by more than 5% in the second quarter.
But the demonstrations nevertheless have real consequences for business life.
Some are obvious: traders in the city centers where the protests are taking place will be penalized for the 11th time this Thursday
(see below).
Broken windows, declining attendance and turnover… These days represent a real shortfall for them.
