A woman died after pushing another climber to safety in Utah when a column of ice broke and fell, a sheriff's office in northeastern Utah announced Tuesday.
Three people were climbing Raven Falls Sunday when the column fell, the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office said.
One man was hospitalized and the third climber was uninjured and was able to drive to Duchesne to call 911 for help.

"The climber who pushed her partner out of the way of the falling ice was trapped under two huge blocks of ice and did not survive," he said.
The woman, described only as a 41-year-old female, was found dead Monday afternoon with the help of Utah and Wasatch County search and rescue teams, the City of Duchesne Volunteer Fire Department and rock climbers. ice volunteers, the sheriff's office said.

The push "probably saved her life," the office said of the 21-year-old climber, who was able to leave the scene to seek help.
A 34-year-old man fell 40 feet (12 meters) and was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, he said.
His status was not available on Tuesday.

The possible relationship between the climbers was not clear.
The Mountain Project, a website for climbers, describes Raven Falls as a 110-foot (33-meter) tall icy waterfall.
Duchesne is about 114 miles (183 kilometers) southeast of Salt Lake City.
Lows overnight Sunday reached 30 degrees in Duchesne, according to the National Weather Service.
