anticipated , the opposition coalition intends to set the agenda in a territory that until the beginning of this year the vice president managed thanks to the circumstantial majority of the Frente de Todos in partnership with its usual allies.
However, with the breakup of the pro-government bench and the formation of the Federal Unity bloc, the way was paved for Juntos to break the dominance of the vice president, forcing the ruling party to sit down to agree on the agenda.
The scandalous session of March 30 was the first representation of the measurement of forces between the ruling party and the opposition based on the new formation of the chamber.
But, although the decision to leave the venue, amidst the shouting, left the Frente de Todos without a quorum to meet, it also became clear that Juntos and the dissident Peronism were not able to impose their agenda either and Kirchnerism stayed to complete the maneuver. and there is no opposition session.
From the Federal Unit, headed by Guillermo Snopek from Jujuy, they have not yet defined whether they will accompany Juntos but they made clear their intention to seek "consensus" with the majority forces.
"When the session is convened, we will resolve based on the agenda we requested," they told this newspaper from the force that brings together four senators who belonged to the FdT and Alejandra Vigo, wife of Juan Schiaretti from Cordoba.
In principle, from the Federal Unit they insisted on the request for the Justice commission to work in order to deal with the project to Strengthen the Justice of Santa Fe, which is being reviewed by Deputies.
They also requested that the treatment of a project that seeks to reduce electricity rates from the elimination of taxes, such as VAT, which are applied to invoices, promoted by Edgardo Kueider from Entre Ríos, advance in commission.
For this special session, Juntos included 13 projects, among which are the six specifications of Federal judges for the provinces of Santa Fe and Córdoba, and the so-called Lucio Law, topics that Alfredo Cornejo had requested to be dealt with in the failed session and which resulted in differences of regulatory interpretation that led to the fall of the debate.
But attention will also be focused on the sanction of the law to strengthen the Federal Justice in Santa Fe, which has been approved by Deputies and which was claimed by the opposition.
This proposal crystallized after the threat suffered by the family of soccer player Lionel Messi.
Beyond the projects that are included in the agenda, what the opposition and the ruling party are at stake is the leadership of the Senate.
And from Together for Change they know that they cannot turn falsely, as happened in the session last week when they had to put the regulatory dispute to a vote before withdrawing from the premises.
From the ruling party they know that beyond the message of José Mayans, in order for the proposals that generate concern in society to be dealt with, they must resist to maintain control of the Senate, a terrain that Cristina Kirchner knew how to keep under her control to impose her charged agenda of legal issues.
One fact to keep in mind is that the session was called for the same day that the Buenos Aires PJ and La Cámpora, both controlled by Máximo Kirchner, will march to the Courts to repudiate the Judiciary.
